Simple Rose
This was my lay project for my painting class. It was suppose to be my watercolor project until I decided it wasn't good enough to be the third project. I put it aside and once Mrs. Singleton said we could do anything for our last project so I pulled it out. I made many changes like adding acrylic paint and changing the butterfly's design. It looks really nice but I'm not sure what mean it has. In my opinion it's about peace but everyone could look at it differently. It's a simple rose for a simple painting.

The second time I moved houses, I was in first grade and I was terrified. Both of my parents were at work and the bus dropped me off at my new house, which was locked. I remember staring at the trees for a long time because I've never actually had a tree at my house. This was our permanent home and we always knew we would be home when we saw the trees. A year ago, one of our trees bloomed during the winter and we were scared it would die but when it didn't bloom in the summer my father decided it was time. He cut down the tree, causing my sister to turn into an emotional wreck because it meant change. She was right as things are changing, and that's what I wanted to show in this piece. The dead tree resembles the past and the leaves and leading to the future. The person near the tree represents watching the changes happen.

When things were simple, my family and I would go to the park out of town. We didn't really go for the slides or swings but for the trails that lead around the park. This pictures captures what I remembered from an airal view. I don't remember how I started this painting as I had a lot of layers such as the sky, trees and the path. The different varities of greens really draws the attentions and doesn't make it look bland. I honestly don't know what my intentions for this was as it was a texture painting and I wanted it to look and feel textured.

Honestly I like landscapes and I know this is a cliche topic but I honestly don't mind it. I was literally just messing around the color blue to create an entire of palettee of varies of blue for this project. I used my pencil to draw the outline of the horizon, hill and tree the rest was all detailed in paint to the best of my ability. This time I worked on my background first before I started detail which really worked and made the piece look more unified. My intentions for this piece was only to experiment with different color shades and what I could do with one color to get a basic idea.
